Publication process
Dunakavics is a monthly online journal that publishes analyses and studies of a scientific nature. All articles for publication must be original, i.e., they must not be under peer review by another journal or have not previously appeared elsewhere.
1. The publication process starts with registration and submission of an abstract of up to 400 words (topic, research question, methods, results).
2. Authors of submitted abstracts that fit the profile of the journal and, in the judgment of the editorial board, meet the quality standards of Dunakavics will be invited to submit a full paper (approximately 40 000 characters, docx format, APA7 style, with DOI identifiers of sources in the bibliography).
The abstract must be submitted in both English and Hungarian, and three to six keywords must be provided for the paper.
3. The article will be evaluated by the editorial board for compliance with the requirements for publication. If yes, the editor-in-chief will start the peer review process; if no, feedback will be sent to reject the paper.
4. If the paper reflects what the abstract promises, the editor-in-chief will appoint an editor to oversee the paper and invite external reviewers to evaluate the manuscript. The referee(s) will assess the relevance and quality of the paper, its content and format, using a referee form, and will make a recommendation for publication. The editor-in-chief, together with the editor, will decide on the further fate of the paper on the basis of the reviews and proposals received.
5. The author revises the manuscript on the basis of the reviews and editorial guidance received and resubmits it. The editor will consider whether the author has responded adequately to the criticisms and will decide, together with the Editor-in-chief, whether to accept the manuscript. If necessary, he will ask the author for further revisions.
6. The editor-in-chief, with the assistance of the editorial board, schedules the article for publication in one of the next issues of the journal and, in consultation with the editor-in-chief and the reader's editor, prepares the final, printable form of the article.
