Dear Reader,\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n At first sight, we have chosen a perhaps playful-sounding name for the title of our long-planned publication. For us, the name Dunakavics [Danube pebbles]<\/em> has many meanings. The English language says pebbles of wisdom. The pebble, however, may also remind us of the classic parable of a philosophy professor. The professor illustrated the meaning of life by filling a glass with rocks, explaining that a glass seemingly full of rocks could be filled with more pebbles and sand. The rocks represented the most important things in life, like family, health, and dreams that give our lives meaning. The pebbles were things that mattered to us, like our job, hobbies, and friends. They make life enjoyable, yet aren\u2019t essential. The sand represented small, insignificant things. The moral was simple. Focus on the essential things first. Take care of family, health, and dreams. Then enjoy the pebbles - things that make you happy. If you still have time, have fun with the sand. If you fill your life, however, with sand first, wasting your time with unimportant things, there won\u2019t be space for the rocks and pebbles that truly matter. Dunakavics [Danube pebbles]<\/em> also provide scope for further associations, as they can bring to mind a childhood favorite sweet or simply a walk along the Danube. <\/p>\n\n\n\n We hope that in our publication you will be able to choose the pebbles you want to lift from the riverbank according to your own taste and preferences.
